Random Windows 7 crashes on "Save As.." dialog?

HELP?

Applies to:

  • Windows 7
  • Microsoft Office

Problem description:

You're experiencing general, random crashes in Windows 7 when, in every program you have, you try to open the "Save As..." dialog.

Solution:

The problem can be caused by the file "msonsext.dll" (it is used by the Microsoft SharePoint services)!
This file is usually located in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders" (to find it, open "Computer" (), write in the search box "msonsext.dll", and it will appear ()!).
To solve this problem you can simply try to rename this file (for example from "msonsext.dll" to "msonsext.dll.old"), so that in case you can always restore it ().

Notes:

This is just one of the possible solutions to solve this generic problem!
In case you do not find the file I used to solve the problem, don't panic and remember that Google's your best friend!
